If we don’t want more people killed by wars, terrorist attacks, and pandemics, and see the earth destroyed by global warming, then we need new worldwide leadership—women’s leadership. We’ve had enough of the patriarchal model leading us to into countless wars and bringing us to the brink of societal, economic, and environmental collapse. It is time for a radical change. Women Must Save the World! shows how women can lead the world into safety and prosperity. This book is more than just a feminist appeal to give women greater opportunity for leadership roles. The Covid-19 pandemic and the catastrophic effects of global warming are tipping points—final warning signs that we, as global citizens, should heed. The purpose of this book is to show why women are better able than men to lead the planet now to safety and prosperity. There is not a similar book in the marketplace. It is unique in its treatment of history, its assessment of the patriarchal model, its rationale for promoting women’s leadership, and its description of how a new world can be realized. The views about globalization and patriarchy that I share in my book are supported by decades of experience working with men at the highest levels in the corporate world. In my difficult but successful climb to the top, I served as a consultant in most major countries around the world, and held many executive positions, including acting as Chief Information Officer for United Airlines and interim CEO of Alliant Credit Union. The book is intended for an international audience and is packed with facts and historical perspectives. I show how the warlike mentality of the ruling patriarchy has dominated government and corporate leadership for centuries. Today we see multiple crises around the globe: twenty wars, tensions mounting between the superpowers, white supremacist movements on the rise, and racial injustices leading to riots and looting. The world needs a new paradigm. Computers can now perform many of the left-brain skills that the patriarchy prides itself on. We desperately need leadership skills that many women possess—relationship building, compassion, creativity, teamwork, and thinking holistically. While masculine bravado and brawn may have worked in centuries past, women today are uniquely positioned to lead because of their education and skills. I give the reader a vision of what a world led by women, with the participation of empowered farsighted men, would look like. Guidelines and a framework for how a new global family could be realized are provided. I invite the reader to participate in creating this new world by first examining his or her own prejudices that may be adding to world tensions, and then by nominating women on my website (Renaissance Donna.com) to help lead this worldwide effort. If we don’t seize this moment of crisis as an opportunity to spur a movement of dramatic change, we may find ourselves unable to recover from global warming, the next pandemic, or the next world war.
